Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
  • Message “NTP servers may not be uniform for all NSX-T managers. Verify using the steps from NSX-T admin guide and reconfigure.” or “DNS servers may not be uniform for all NSX-T managers. Verify using the steps from NSX-T admin guide and reconfigure.” shows up on UI post upgrade.
  • The interpretation of the message above is -
Login to NSX-T (through UI/API/SSH) and see if the NTP/DNS is configured uniformly for all the managers. If not please set it on the NSX-T device (through UI/API/SSH) taking help of NSX-T admin guide. If the NTP/DNS is uniformly configured then no action is required. Further more, please note that this message is of informational nature and not a blocker for any of the operation.

Environment

Vmware Cloud Foundation 4.5

Cause

  • This is an informational message to make sure that user manually does the DNS and NTP setting on NSX-T managers, specifically if the setup is an upgraded one.

Resolution

  • This message can be safely ignored, VMware Engineering is working to get the fix for the alert generated.
  • This KB article will be updated as and when the fix is available.
  • VCF strongly recommends uniform values for DNS and NTP across NSX-T managers.
