vCenter upgrade fails due to hosts in ERROR state

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

• When trying to upgrade the vcenter it fails right away with the follwoing: System initiated upgrade cancel operation 
• 
• Hosts show Error status in SDDC Manager > Hosts > Configuration Status

• The hosts do not have any issues reported in vCenter

Environment

VMware Cloud Foundation 4.x

Cause

• The SDDC Manager DB has not updated to show that the hosts are in ACTIVE state.

Resolution

 

Manually update the SDDC manger Database to set hosts to Active. 

Additional Information

Impact/Risks:

• HIGH: Since the resolution involves manual edits to the SDDC Manager database entries, a snapshot of the SDDC Manager VM is highly recommended prior to making any changes.
