Upgrade will fail if the vsphere-ui service is enabled with debug logs

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

• The vSphere Client logging enabled with Debug and then attempted an upgrade 
• vsphere-ui service and observes login error.

Environment

VMware vCenter Server 6.5.x

Cause

• This is a known issue and we have a workaround for the reported issue 

Resolution

• Validate if the DEBUG logging is enabled on /usr/lib/vmware-vsphere-ui/server/configuration/serviceability.xml
  from <root level="INFO"> to <root level="DEBUG">.
• Add the following custom logger configuration to /usr/lib/vmware-vsphere-ui/server/configuration/serviceability.xml:

  <logger level="INFO" additivity="false" name="com.sun.org.apache.xml">
      <appender-ref ref="LOG_FILE" />
   </logger>
   
   <logger level="INFO" additivity="false" name="org.jcp.xml.dsig.internal.dom">
      <appender-ref ref="LOG_FILE" />
   </logger>

• Restarted vsphere-ui service and observed that the login works
  • Check the KB :- 2109887 to restart the vsphere-ui services
