Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

• The usage of /var/log in Aria Operations for Networks (formerly vRealize Network Insight) nodes becomes too high similar to:

Filesystem       Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on

/dev/mapper/vg-var+log  28G  21G 5.7G 79% /var/log

 

• The size of /var/log/nginx/access.log.1 becomes too large similar to:

-rw-r--r-- 1 root   root 13334370486 Aug 25 16:45 access.log.1

Environment

VMware vRealize Network Insight 6.x
VMware Aria Operations for Networks 6.11.0
VMware Aria Operations for Networks (formerly vRealize Network Insight) 6.x
VMware Aria Operations for Networks 6.10.0

Resolution

This is a known issue in Aria Operations for Networks (formerly vRealize Network Insight) and will be fixed in a future release.6.12

Workaround:

This issue can be resolved by restarting nginx service.

After restarting, the usage of /var/log will decrease.
