Apache HTTP Server does not show files larger than 2GB in the directory listings

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

• Apache HTTP Server does not show files larger than 2GB in the directory listings
• Apache HTTP Server does not allow you to upload or download files larger than 2GB
  

Environment

VMware vFabric Web Server 5.0
VMware vFabric Enterprise Ready Server 4
Apache HTTP Server 2.2
Apache HTTP Server 2.0

Cause

Apache HTTP Server 2.0 does not handle files that are larger than 2GB.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, use Apache HTTP Server 2.2 or later versions. These versions can handle files larger than 2GB, provided the operating system and file system support the file.
