Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

• Email alert notifications are not sent for each triggered alert.

Environment

VMware vRealize Log Insight 4.7.x
VMware vRealize Log Insight 4.5.x
VMware vRealize Log Insight 4.x
VMware vRealize Log Insight 4.6.x
VMware vRealize Log Insight 4.3.x

Cause

The vRealize Log Insight alert snoozing mechanism will pause sending email alert notifications after the first email notification has been sent, until the end of a specified period or default 5-minute period, if the alert has been triggered multiple times during the period.

Resolution

This is expected functionality in vRealize Log Insight 4.x.

Workaround:
To workaround this behavior, use WebHook alert notifications, which are not snoozed.
An alert notification will be sent with every occurrence of an alert.
