Issue/Introduction

The purpose of this article is to be able to determine on which machine vCenter Server solutions and extensions are installed.
 
For example: vCenter Inventory Service, vCops, Site Recovery Manager, Update Manager.

Environment

  • VMware vCenter Server 4.0.x
  • VMware vCenter Server 5.0.x
  • VMware vCenter Server 4.1.x
  • VMware vCenter Server 5.1.x
  • VMware vCenter Server 5.5.x
  • VMware vCenter Server 6.0.x

Resolution

  1. In a web browser, navigate to http://vCenter_Server_name_or_IP/mob.

    Note: vCenter_Server_name_or_IP/mob is the name of your vCenter Server or its IP address.

  2. Click Content.
  3. Click Extension Manager.
  4. Select the name of the extension or solution for which you want to find the install location from the list of values under Properties. For a list of default extensions and solutions, see the Additional Information section of this article.
  5. Click HealthInfo
  6. The value for the url is the machine on which the extension or solution is installed.
  7. Close the window.
