'Error communicating with Pricing service' error in vRA

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

• New blueprint in created in vRealize Automation.
• Provisioning the newly created blueprint fails when getting upfront price from vRealize Business fails with the error:
  
  
  Request failed while fetching item metadata: Error communicating with Pricing service
  
  

Environment

VMware vRealize Business for Cloud Standard 7.x
VMware vRealize Business for Cloud Advanced 7.x
VMware vRealize Automation 7.0.x

Cause

This issue occurs when the blueprint is not available in vRealize Business at the time of upfront costing.

Resolution

This is a known issue affecting VMware vRealize Automation 7.0.x.

Currently, there is no resolution.

To work around the issue:

1. Create a new blueprint in vRealize Automation.
   
2. Trigger the vRealize Automation data collection in vRealize Business for cloud.
   
3. Trigger cost calculation in vRealize Business for cloud after a successful vRealize Automation data collection.
   
4. Provision the blueprint again.
