Issue/Introduction

By default, vSphere 5.5 and 6.0 SSL is enabled for provisioning (clone and migrate) NFC data traffic. You can disable SSL to increase the data traffic streaming performance by up to 25%.

Note: By disabling SSL, the NFC data traffic is no longer encrypted by SSL.

Environment

VMware vSphere Web Client 6.0.x
VMware vCenter Server 6.0.x
VMware vCenter Server 5.5.x
VMware vSphere Web Client 5.5.x

Resolution

To disable SSL in vCenter Server, perform these steps:
  1. From the vSphere Web Client Home page, select vCenter, and then select vCenter Server from the inventory list.
  2. Select the vCenter Server that you want to edit.
  3. Click Manage, and then click Settings.
  4. On the Settings page, click Advanced Settings, and then click Edit.
  5. In the Key text box, type:

    config.nfc.useSSL

  6. In the Value text box, type:

    false

  7. Click Add, and then click OK.
