Issue/Introduction

Question: 

How do you create settings to generate alarms based on a String-match (non-numeric) with the logmon probe?

Environment:  

logmon probe, all versions

Answer: 

1. Use a string in the Threshold field in the variable settings.
2. Define a variable to be used in 'Message to send on match'.
3. Set the 'Field separator' to % and set the Column to 2
