Accessing the product UI with the IP or FQDN of a node redirects to the admin UI in vRealize Operations Manager 6.x and later

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
When attempting to access the VMware vRealize Operations Manager 6.x product UI with by the address of FQDN of a node, you are redirected to the admin UI instead of the product UI.

Environment

VMware vRealize Operations Manager 6.4.x
VMware vRealize Operations Manager 6.5.x
VMware vRealize Operations Manager 6.2.x
VMware vRealize Operations Manager 6.0.x
VMware vRealize Operations Manager 6.6.x
VMware vRealize Operations Manager 6.3.x
VMware vRealize Operations Manager 6.1.x
VMware vRealize Operations Manager 6.7.x
VMware vRealize Operations Manager 7.0.x

Cause

This issue occurs when the redirect URL is changed to admin/ in index.html.en file after a vRealize Operations Manager upgrade.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, update the redirect URL in the index.en.html file .
 

VMware vRealize Operations Manager 6.0.x

  1. Log in to the Master node as root via SSH or Console.
  2. Open /usr/lib/vmware-vcopssuite/utilities/proxy/web/index.en.html using a text editor.
  3. Change the url= portion of the <meta < font http-equiv="refresh"> line to read:
<meta content="0; url=vcops-web-ent/" http-equiv="refresh">
  1. Save and close the file.
  2. Repeat steps 1 to 5 on all Analytic nodes in the cluster.


VMware vRealize Operations Manager 6.1-6.5

  1. Log in to the Master node as root via SSH or Console.
  2. Open /usr/lib/vmware-vcopssuite/utilities/proxy/web/index.en.html using a text editor.
  3. Change the url= portion of the <meta < font http-equiv="refresh"> line to read:
<meta content="0; url=ui/" http-equiv="refresh">
  1. Save and close the file.
  2. Repeat steps 1 to 5 on all Analytic nodes in the cluster.


vRealize Operations Manager 6.6 and later

  1. Log in to the Master node as root via SSH or Console.
  2. Open /storage/db/apache/proxy/web/index.en.html using a text editor.
  3. Change the url= portion of the <meta < font http-equiv="refresh"> line to read:
<meta content="0; url=ui/" http-equiv="refresh">
  1. Save and close the file.
  2. Repeat steps 1 to 5 on all Analytic nodes in the cluster.
