Cause

In most cases, the SSL filtering feature of an antivirus configures an SSL cert that cannot be added as an exception by the browser. As a result, the antivirus is acting as an intermediary and the certificate is never injected into the browser.

Resolution

You must allow your vRealize Operations IP address or FQDN in your antivirus software, or disable the antivirus software when on the vRealize Operations Manager UI.
Follow the documentation for your preferred antivirus software.

Example: Disable SSL filtering on ESET by following these steps:
  1. In ESET, click on Setup.
  2. Click on Internet Protection.
  3. Under Web Access Protection, click on the gear icon to configure.
  4. Click on Web and Email.
  5. Expand PROTOCOL FILTERING.
  6. In Excluded IP Addresses click Edit.
  7. Click Add and then type in the IP address or FQDN you are using for vRealize Operations Manager and then click OK.
  8. When back at the Advanced Setup screen, click OK again.
