Issue/Introduction

To resolve this issue, enter the full lookupservice address for vCenter Server as:

https://[FQDN_vCenter_Server]:7444/lookupservice/sdk

Symptoms:
  • Registering VMware vSphere Replication (VR) to vCenter Server fails.
  • After upgrade from VR 5.x to 6.x, unable to get VR register or configured.

OR
no element found: line 1, column 0

Notes:

  • The vCenter Runtime settings has the correct vCenter Server Name.
  • There is no DNS issue because ping to long FQDN and the short name is successful.
