Issue/Introduction

Re-Enabling vApp Options on any Virtual Machine in vCenter will lead to the VM being not discovered by vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager. Suggested workaround would resolve this issue.

Symptoms:
Disabling and Enabling vApp options on a VM will lead to disappearance of OVF Properties in vCenter, which leads to VM being not discovered in vRSLCM

Cause

Re-Enabling vApp options for a VM in vCenter leads to disappearance of OVF Properties.

Resolution

Recommend to implement the workaround for now.

Workaround:

While the Fix is being worked on, how can VMware customers resolve the issue through a workaround?

Edit the vApp Product Properties - Configure vApp Product Properties
 

  1. Right-click a vApp in the inventory and click Edit Settings.

  2. To enter product and vendor information, click the Details tab.
    vApp SettingDescription
    NameProduct name.
    Product URLIf you enter a product URL, a user can click the product name on the virtual machine summary page and go to the product's web page.
    VendorVendor name.
    Vendor URLIf you enter a vendor URL, a user can click the vendor name from the Summary page of the virtual machine and go to the vendor's web page.
  3. Click OK.
