Issue/Introduction
Symptoms:
On the Tasks and Events tab in VMware vCenter Server, you see the error: Cannot login user @127.0.0.1: no permission In the /var/log / hostd.log file contains entries similar to: <YYYY-MM-DDTHH:MM:SS>.637Z [71840B90 info 'Solo.Vmomi'] Throw vim.fault.NoPermission <YYYY-MM-DDTHH:MM:SS>.637Z [71840B90 info 'Solo.Vmomi'] Result: --> (vim.fault.NoPermission) { --> dynamicType = <unset>, --> faultCause = (vmodl.MethodFault) null, --> object = 'vim.Folder:ha-folder-root', --> privilegeId = "System.View", --> msg = "", -->}
Environment
VMware vSphere ESXi 6.7 VMware vSphere ESXi 6.5 VMware vSphere ESXi 7.0 VMware vSphere ESXi 5.5 VMware vSphere ESXi 5.1 VMware vSphere ESXi 6.0
Cause
This issue occurs as the /etc/vmware/hostd/authorization.xml has been changed and no longer contains information for the dcui user.
Resolution
To resolve this issue, add the the dcui user the ESXi host as an Administrator. For more information, see
