Issue/Introduction

Summary

Network connectivity is restored for one or more portgroups on the ESX host.

Example

If vmnic1 is the only uplink on vSwitch0 and VM_Network is the only portgroup connected to this virtual switch, the following event occurs if vmnic1 is restored:

Network connectivity restored on virtual switch "vSwitch0", portgroups: "VM Network." Physical NIC vmnic1 is up.

Impact

All services (including virtual machines, service console, vMotion, NFS, iSCSI, and Management Services) associated with the affected portgroups are reconnected to the associated physical networks.

Environment

VMware ESXi 4.1.x Embedded
VMware ESXi 4.1.x Installable
VMware vCenter Server 4.1.x
VMware ESX 4.1.x

Resolution

This is an information only event. No workaround is necessary.
