vRealize Operations 8.0 has introduced new metrics and properties to help track and monitor your environments.

Metrics and Properties Added in 8.0

The lists bellow include all of the new vSphere, vSAN, and Service Discovery metrics and properties added in vRealize Operations 8.0.
 

vSphere Metrics and Properties

		Number of Outgoing Connections	Metric	Number of outgoing connection counts from the discovered services.

		Authentication Method	Property	Refers to the VM guest operating system authentication method. The guest operating system can be authenticated either via a common user/password or a guest alias.
		Discovery Status	Property	Reflects the result of service discovery operation on the VM's guest operating system.
		Authentication Status	Property	Guest operating system authentication status.
		Inbound Ports	Property	List of VM inbound ports. These are the ports on which the discovered services are listening.
	Cost	MTD Effective Total Cost	Metric	The total cost of the VM aggregated from utilization and allocation based total cost.
		Monthly Effective Projected Total Cost	Metric	The projected total cost of the VM aggregated from utilization and allocation based projected total cost.

		Server Accumulated Depreciation (Currency)	Metric	Accumulated depreciation of the server based on the purchase date, purchase cost, and depreciation settings.
		Server Purchase Cost (Currency)	Metric	The purchase cost of the server entered in cost drivers.
		Server Purchase Date	Metric	The purchase date of the server entered in cost drivers.
		Remaining Depreciation Months	Metric	Amount of time in months remaining for the server to be depreciated based on the purchase date and depreciation settings.

Datastore	Summary	Alias Of	Property	Indicates whether the datastore is an alias of another. The published value is the container ID of the datastore for which it is an alias

		Connection Type	Property	If there is a remote process that was connected to one of the listening ports of the given service, then the property's value is set to Incoming. If not, it is set to Outgoing. If there is no connection to another service, then the value of the property is set to N/A.
		Has Dynamic Port	Property	Indicates whether the service has dynamic ports or not.

Metrics and Properties Removed in 8.0

The lists bellow include all of the vSphere metrics and properties removed in vRealize Operations 8.0.
These changes were largely a cleanup effort to remove metrics that did not publish data.  These changes do not remove data that was previously available.
