Issue/Introduction

To work around this issue, you must enable IPv6 on the IaaS server.

Symptoms:
When installing vRealize Automation IaaS component on a Windows 2012 server, you experience these symptoms:
 
  • IaaS Installer fails to import Model Manager.
  • In the vCACConfiguration.log file, you see entries similar to:


    "C:\Program Files (x86)\VMware\vCAC\Server\Model Manager Data\RepoUtil.exe" Model-Install -f "C:\Program Files (x86)\VMware\vCAC\Server\Model Manager Data\**********.dll" -s "*********" -d "vCAC" -c "C:\Program Files (x86)\VMware\vCAC\Server\Model Manager Data\**********.xml" -v

    System.Net.WebException: The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurred on a receive. ---> System.IO.IOException: Unable to read data from the transport connection: An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine. ---> System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine
    at System.Net.Sockets.NetworkStream.Read(Byte[] buffer, Int32 offset, Int32 size)
    --- End of inner exception stack trace ---
    at DynamicOps.Tools.Common.ModelHelpers.InstallModel(String assemblyFileName, String securityFileName, String server, String catalog, String userName, String password, String httpRootRepository)
    at DynamicOps.Tools.Repoutil.Commands.ModelInstallCommand.Execute(CommandLineParser parser)
    Warning: Non-zero return code. Command failed.
    Prereq fix fails with error [Security][Security].


     
  • In All.log file of the Management Agent Logs directory, you see entries similar to:

    System.Security.SecurityException: Security error.
    at System.Management.Automation.MshCommandRuntime.ThrowTerminatingError(ErrorRecord errorRecord)
    The Zone of the assembly that failed was:

Resolution


This issue is resolved in VMware vRealize Automation 7.4, available at VMware Downloads.
 
To work around this issue, you must enable IPv6 on the IaaS server:
  1. Revert IaaS server(s) to snapshot.
  2. Go to Control Panel > Open Network and Sharing Center.
  3. Click Change adapter settings in the top-left panel.
  4. Double-click on your network connection.
  5. Click on Properties.
  6. Select Internet Protocol Version 6.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Reboot the IaaS server(s).
  9. Retry the installation.
