Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
When reconfiguring a NAT network, you experience these symptoms:
  • Request appears to succeed, however, no changes are made to the actual machine.
  • In vRealize Automation, you see that there are no network adapters assigned to the machine.

Note: vRealize Automation does not support the reconfiguration of NAT networks (or any network that is not selected in the virtual machines reservation). These requests are supposed to fail with an error message to the user.

    Environment

    VMware vRealize Automation 7.2.x
    VMware vRealize Automation 7.3.x
    VMware vRealize Automation 7.4.x
    VMware vRealize Automation 6.2
    VMware vRealize Automation Desktop 6.2
    VMware vRealize Automation Desktop 6.2.x
    VMware vRealize Automation 7.1.x
    VMware vRealize Automation 6.2.x
    VMware vRealize Automation 7.x
    VMware vRealize Automation 7.0.x
    VMware vRealize Automation 6.x

    Cause

This is caused by a problem in NAT network reconfiguration code.

    Resolution

This issue is resolved in VMware vRealize Automation 7.4, available at VMware Downloads.

No work around is required for this as the networks will be restored in vRealize Automation once data collection runs.

Note: This issue is only seen on newly deployed virtual machines which haven't gone through inventory data collection.
