Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

When the vRealize Automation 7.3 environment is migrated from 6.2.x and the 6.2.x system contains Application Director or Application Services, you experience these symptoms:

  • Application Director / Application Services catalog items are unavailable in vRA 7.3.
  • Clicking on an Application Director/Application Services catalog item in the 7.3 environment displays an error similar to:

    Failed to retrieve form from provider

Cause

This issue occurs because the Application Director/Application Services catalog items no longer being compatible with the vRA 7.3 system. Application Director/Application Services catalog items are expected to not be migrated into the 7.3 system.

Resolution

This issue is resolved in VMware vRealize Automation 7.4, available at VMware Downloads.

To work around this issue, apply the provided hotfix to the vRA 7.3 VA and re-run the migration to exclude the Application Director/Application Services catalog items.
  1. Download the KB2150573_hf1733442.zip file attached to this KB article.
  2. Copy the file to the vRA 7.3 VA.
  3. Unzip the KB2150573_hf1733442.zip file by running the command to get hf1733442.tar file.

    unzip KB2150573_hf1733442.zip
  4. Extract the contents of the hf1733442.tar file by running this command:

    tar zxf hf1733442.tar
     
  5. Copy the hotfix to the appropriate directory running the command:

    cp M36-remove-deprecated-endpoints /usr/lib/vcac/tools/migration/sequence/migration/scripts
     
  6. Start the migration.
