Issue/Introduction


Symptoms:
When powering on the vRealize Business appliance, you see this message in the vSphere Web Client:
Cannot connect the virtual device IDE0:0 because no corresponding device is available on the host. Do you want to try to connect this virtual device every time you power on the virtual machine?


Environment

VMware vRealize Business for Cloud Advanced 7.x
VMware vRealize Business for Cloud Standard 7.x

Cause

This issue occurs because the vRealize Business appliance's virtual CD/DVD drive is set to connect at power on. When the appliance fails to find media at bootup, you see the message described in the Symptoms section.

Resolution

This is a known issue affecting VMware vRealize Business 7.3.
Currently, there is no resolution.
To work around the issue, before powering on the vRealize Business appliance, edit the settings of the appliance, and deselect the Connect at Power On checkbox.
