vCloud Endpoint Reservation does not display the available storage and network resources

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

• vCloud Reservation in VMware vRealize Automation (formerly known as vCloud Automation Center) does not show the available storage and network options
• When you navigate to Enterprise Administrator > Reservations, you see the available memory, but not the storage and network options
• When you navigate to Enterprise Administrator > Compute Resources, you see that the previous vCloud Compute Resource data collection had failed

Environment

VMware vCloud Automation Center for Server 5.1.x
VMware vCloud Automation Center for Desktop 5.1.x

Cause

If a part of a vCloud data collection fails, any subsequent functions of the data collection continue to fail.

This issue occurs if a vDC network is not defined in the given Compute Resource. In this case, an unexpected null value is returned and the data collection fails to collect the network and storage resources.

Resolution

For a full and successful data collection, ensure that these requirements are defined in the vCloud Compute Resource:

• A valid memory allocation
• At least one Storage Profile
• At least one defined Org vDC Network
