Issue/Introduction

This article provides information about the ATTO atto_cim ESXi host CIM provider.

This CIM provider provides support for various ATTO vCenter Plugins, currently including:

• ATTO vConfigTool
• ATTO XstreamCORE Management Plugin

This CIM provider allows the above plugins to function through the ESXi host, providing needing data and information. For more information about these plugins and the supporting CIM provider, see the respective product pages available at https://www.atto.com/downloads/.

Resolution

The ATTO atto_cim CIM provider is used to provide needed information to multiple ATTO plugins for vCenter. Usage of these vCenter plugins requires an instance of this CIM provider installed on all hosts that are a part of the solution.

The ATTO vConfigTool plugin provides a means to view and manage all ATTO adapters on an ESXi host. Usage of the ATTO atto_cim CIM provider allows the plugin to view and manage all detected ATTO adapters, channels, and luns managed by the adapters.

The ATTO XstreamCORE Management Plugin allows users to view and manage ATTO XstreamCORE devices in a solution. The ATTO atto_cim CIM provider allows the plugin to communicate with the ATTO XstreamCORE devices through the ESXi hosts. 
For both plugins, usage of the ATTO atto_cim CIM provider is required for the plugins to provide a relevant inventory for users to interact with.
