Take a backup of all vRealize Operations nodes prior to attempting these steps.
Ensure that you have set the root password when the vRealize Operations nodes were deployed. This is done when logging into the console of the vRealize Operations nodes for the first time and pressing Alt+F1 to get to a login prompt. The default password is blank.
To replace or repair VMware vSphere solution dashboards:
Use a file transfer utility to connect to the primary node as the root user.
Change to the /storage/db/casa/pak/dist_pak_files/platform directory where platform is either NON_VA_LINUX (Linux installable), NON_VA_WINDOWS (Windows installable) or VA_LINUX (vApp).
Download the VMwarevSphere-602263102.pak file.
Note:The 602263102 number may be different in later versions of vRealize Operations, or there may be multiple versions present. Choose the file with the highest version number.
Log in to the vRealize Operations UI.
Navigate to Administration > Solutions.
Click Add (the green plus sign).
Click Browse a solution.
Select the .pak file that was downloaded in step 3.
Select Force installation.
Select Reset out-of-the-box content, overwriting to a newer version provided by this update.
Note: User modifications to out-of-the-box Alerts, Symptoms, Recommendations and Policies will be overwritten. No changes will be made to any configured adapter instances.
Click Upload .
When the upload is complete, click Next.
Select I accept the terms of this agreement.
Click Next.
When the installation is complete, click Finish.
Notes:
You may need to log out and then log in to see the changes take effect.
A similar process starting from step 4 to step 15 can be used for scenarios where the solution pak file is available for download at VMware Solution Exchange.
