Issue/Introduction

When adding an LDAPS identity source to vCenter you see the following error: 

Symptoms:
Adding identity source as LDAPS fails with java.text.ParseException: Unparseable date:

Environment

VMware vCenter Server

Cause

The end date on the SSL certificate used for the LDAP server is too far in the future.

Resolution

Replace the SSL certificate being used with one with an end date of less than 10 years in the future.

Workaround:
Bind identity source as LDAP rather than LDAPS.
