Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

• Logging in to vCenter Server Appliance 5.5 or 6.0 using the vSphere Web Client fails.
• You see the error:

Failed to navigate to desired location.
Error details: Could not retrieve the navigation path for extension vSphere.core.controlcenter.domainView.
Could not connect to vSphere Web Client. Contact your administrator to fix this issue

• This issue does not occur when attempting to log in to VCSA using the vSphere Client.

Environment

VMware vCenter Server Appliance 5.5.x
VMware vCenter Server Appliance 6.0.x

Resolution

To resolve this issue, clear the cache in the Web browser and restart the vSphere Web Client.
