Configure Services In vRealize Operations Manager Service Discovery Management Pack 2.x

Issue/Introduction

• This process can be used to add services that are outside of the default known service list

Environment

VMware vRealize Service Discovery Management Pack 3.0.x

Resolution

To configure services that aren't known in vRealize Operations Manager Service Discovery Management Pack 2.x perform the below actions:

1. Navigate to Administration > Configuration > Inventory Explorer.
2. From Inventory Explorer, select the Service Discovery adapter instance on which the services list is configured.
3. Select the instance, and click the gear icon on the top.
4. Click Configure Included Services and input the services that needs to be discovered in their own line in the format <ProcessName>,<ListeningPort>,<UniqueServiceName>​

Example: sshd,22,SSH Service

5. Click Begin Action.
