Unable to mount ISO image to a virtual machine using vSphere Web Client on Mac OS X

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

When you mount a client device with vSphere Web Client 5.5 on a machine running Apple Mac OS X, you experience these symptoms:

• The virtual machine reconfiguration task does not start when you use Google Chrome.
• When you use Mozilla Firefox, the browser crashes with a stack trace and an error asks you to reload the vSphere Web Client.
• This issue affects Mac OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion) and OS X 10.9 (Mavericks).

VMware vSphere Web Client 5.5.x
VMware vSphere Web Client 6.0.x

Cause

Resolution

This is a known issue affecting vSphere Web Client 5.5.

This issue is resolved in vCenter Server 6.0 Update 1, available at VMware Downloads. For more information, see the VMware vCenter Server 6.0 Update 1 Release Notes.

Currently, there is no workaround or resolution for vSphere Web Client 5.5.
