Configured alerts not consistently sending SMTP emails from vRealize Operations Manager

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
  • vRealize Operations Manager receives alerts notification, but email notifications are received intermittently.
  • Emails for cancelled alerts are received with out any issue.
  • In the /data/vcops/log/analytics.log file, you see the entries similar to:

    2016-06-20 06:18:06,090 INFO [pool-34-thread-2 ] com.vmware.vcops.plugins.filter.StandardAlertFilterPlugin.cancelAlert - addAlert(com.integrien.analytics.alertplugins.NotificationAlertBase@b67cde0) called
    2016-06-20 06:18:06,095 ERROR [pool-34-thread-2 ] com.vmware.vcops.platform.common.sharding.ShardingGemfireFunctionExecutor.executeForResourceOnServer - Caught exception:
    com.gemstone.gemfire.cache.execute.FunctionException: com.vmware.vcops.platform.api.UserContextException: The passed in
    sessionId cdb76d1b-8028-4fad-9f9c-64881de4051d::871907a3-5109-48be-b760-931a3d7ac056 is either not valid or the session has expired for the user when trying to execute function - AlertShardServerInterface.getAlertByResource
