Scheduled reports fail to run in VMware vRealize Operations Manager 5.x

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
  • Scheduled reports that were previously generated successively display a Failed status.
  • The password on the account used to run the scheduled reports has recently been changed.
  • You are able to manually run the report successfully.
  • You may see errors similar to these in the /var/log/vmware/ciq.log file on the UI VM:

Cause

This issue occurs when the password has been changed on the account used to run the scheduled reports.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, update the saved password in VMware vRealize Operation Manager's (formerly known as vCenter Operations Manager) report scheduler.
To update the saved password in VMware vRealize Operation Manager's report scheduler:

  1. Log in to vRealize Operations Manager as the user that should be running the scheduled report.
  2. Click the Reports tab.
  3. Click the Edit Schedule link for the report that is failing to run.
  4. Type your new password in the Password field.
  5. Click the Test Password button to verify that the password entered is correct.
  6. Click the OK button to save the schedule.
