Issue/Introduction

By default, hardware acceleration is disabled for display adapters on Windows Server 2003. This slows down graphics performance and mouse responsiveness in the guest operating system.

Resolution

To enable hardware acceleration in a Windows Server 2003 guest:
  1. Open the Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Display Properties.
  3. In the Settings tab, click Advanced.
  4. In the Troubleshoot tab, drag the Hardware acceleration slider to Full.
  5. Click OK.
