Issue/Introduction

Summary

The following event appears when the firewall services configuration is successfully changed in the Security Profile properties.

Firewall configuration has changed. Operation '%s' for rule set %s succeeded.

The operation '%s' is either type enable or disable. The rule set %s is the name of the firewall service rule set, such as sshServer or sshClient.

Example

If you edit the Security Profile properties and enable SSH Client for the firewall properties, the following event appears:

Firewall configuration has changed. Operation 'enable' for rule set sshClient succeeded.

Impact

If the operation is enable, the target services do not take effect. If the operation is disable, the service is still enabled.

Environment

VMware vCenter Server 5.0.x
VMware vSphere ESXi 5.0

Resolution

No user action is necessary.
