Resolution

If you experience this issue while creating a new virtual machine using Custom configuration, use the default SCSI controller type that the Create New Virtual Machine wizard selected and continue with the installation. Alternatively, you can create a new virtual machine using the Create New Virtual Machine wizard and select the Configuration option Typical.

If you experience this issue with an already created/upgraded virtual machine, change the SCSI controller type of the virtual machine to LSILogic Parallel.

  1. Ensure that the virtual machine is powered off.
  2. Right-click the virtual machine and click Edit Settings.
  3. Under Hardware, select the SCSI controller that is configured as type BusLogic Parallel.
  4. Click Change Type.
  5. Select LSILogic Parallel and click OK.
  6. Repeat Steps 3 to 5 for all the SCSI controller fields that are configured as type BusLogic Parallel.
  7. Power on the virtual machine.
