Cannot access a USB 3.0 device through a virtual machine's USB 2.0 controller

Issue/Introduction

You cannot view a USB 3.0 device when it is connected to a virtual machine through the VM's 2.0 controller from the client or host machine's USB 3.0 port.

Environment

VMware vCenter Server 6.5.x
VMware vSphere ESXi 6.5

Resolution

You can plug the USB 3.0 device into a host or client machine's USB 2.0 port. Alternatively, you can add a USB 3.0 controller to the VM if USB 3.0 controllers are supported for the VM.
