Issue/Introduction

You receive the following event message after a host is powered off by a user or a daemon-initiated operation through the esxcli interface:

Shutdown in progress.

Impact

The host disconnects from vCenter Server. No virtual machines are powered on when this operation is in progress.

No user action is necessary. This is an information only event.
