Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
  • vRealize Operations is version 8.1.
  • Configuring the vRealize Operations 8.1 integration in the vSphere UI fails with Connection failed!!! when attempting to connect to vRealize Operations 8.1.
  • The /storage/vcops/log/api.log shows messages similar to:
2020-02-24T14:23:52,556 [127.0.0.1] INFO server.config.ThrottleFilter - Allowing GET /versions/current/endpoints
2020-02-24T14:23:52,557 [127.0.0.1] INFO service.impl.DefaultGlobalSettingService - Getting value of ENABLE_BASIC_AUTHENTICATION global setting.
2020-02-24T14:23:52,558 [127.0.0.1] INFO server.config.ThrottleFilter - Completed GET /versions/current/endpoints


Environment

VMware vRealize Operations 8.1.x

Resolution

This is a known issue affecting vRealize Operations 8.1.
This issue is resolved in vRealize Operations 8.2, available at VMware Downloads.

Workaround:
To work around this issue, create the vCenter Adapter instance through the vRealize Operations UI.

Alternatively, follow the KB Article below to enable basic authentication, and try configuring the vRealize Operations integration from the vSphere UI again.
