Issue/Introduction

WMI and Linux/Unix credentials required to run discovery and deploy robots via ADE.

Environment

Any UIM release

Resolution

In general, root or administrative permissions are required.

WMI and Linux/Unix credentials are required to run discovery and deploy robots via ADE.

Windows:

You have local administrative privileges on the target systems. In addition, the user listed in the host-profiles.xml for target Windows systems must have remote access and remote execution privileges. We recommend that this user is an administrator.

- If you are using Windows Native Deployment, you must have local administrative privileges on the target systems.

- The user listed in the host-profiles.xml for target Windows systems must have remote access and remote execution privileges. It is recommended that this user be an administrator.

- If the Windows account being used is not an administrator account, Windows doesn't allow that account to install software. It doesn't have to be "Administrator", but it must have the same privileges i.e be in the local administrator group.

Linux/UNIX

You must have access to root or a non-administrative account that supports sudo to perform per-command, root-level operations.

SSH credentials are either the root user or a user with SUDO access that allows it to execute the various install commands (rpm, pkgadd, etc.) that are described in the Help section on configuring deployment via third party tools.
