Unable to access the VRM virtual machine on the network via ping or ssh.
The console of the VRM virtual machine displays this message in a red banner:
NO NETWORKING DETECTED. PLEASE LOGIN AND RUN THE COMMAND
/opt/vmware/share/vami/vami_config_net
TO CONFIGURE THE NETWORK.
Environment
VMware Cloud Foundation 2.0.x VMware Cloud Foundation 2.1.x
Resolution
This is a known issue affecting VMware Cloud Foundation. There is currently no resolution.
To work around this issue:
Reboot the VRM virtual machine. If this does not resolve the issue, proceed to the next step.
Power off the VRM virtual machine.
In the vSphere Web Client, right-click the VRM virtual machine and click Edit Settings.
Make a note of the portgroups to which Network adapter 1 and Network adatper 2 are connected. These should be vRack-DPortGroup-Mgmt and vRack-DPortgroup-NonRoutable, respectively.
Click the Remove button next to Network adapter 1 and next to Network adapter 2.
Select Network in the New device dropdown and click the Add button.
Next to the New Adapter entry, choose the portgroup to which Network adapter 1 was assigned (should be vRack-DPortGroup-Mgmt).
Expand the New Adapter entry and ensure that the Adapter Type is set to VMXNET 3.
Select Network in the New device dropdown and click the Add button.
Next to the second New Adapter entry, select the portgroup to which Network adapter 2 was assigned (should bevRack-DPortgroup-NonRoutable).
Expand the second New Adapter entry and ensure that the Adapter Type is set to VMXNET 3.
Click OK.
Power on the VRM virtual machine.
