Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
  • When using a browser to access the SDDC Manager with the FQDN the browser returns an empty page.
https://<FQDN>:8443/vrm-ui/
  • In the /home/vrack/vrm/logs/evosddc-debug.log file, you see entries similar to:
        ERROR [com.vmware.vrack.vrm.ui.controller.websso.SSOController] Error in Redirection (SSO)  java.lang.Exception: SP Alias not found for host (vrm.sddc1.wwtpoc.local)
java.lang.Exception: SP Alias not found for host (vrm.sddc1.wwtpoc.local) 


Environment

VMware Cloud Foundation 2.0.x
VMware Cloud Foundation 2.1.x

Cause

The issue occurs because the SDDC Manager processes running on the VRM virtual machine cannot validate an SSO redirection due to case sensitivity in the server name of the FQDN.

Resolution

This is a known issue affecting VMware Cloud Foundation. Currently, there is no resolution.

Workaround:
To work around this issue, use the IP in the browser url: https://<IP>:8443/vrm-ui/
