Incompatibility of MP4H with Horizon 2209 and 2212

Issue/Introduction

This article is to inform the reader of the incompatibility of the Management Pack for Horizon (MP4H) versions lower than 2.5 with VMware Horizon 2209

Symptoms:

• You have installed VMware Aria Operations (formerly known as vRealize Operations) Management Pack for Horizon (MP4H), and creating an adapter instance fails with the error message

Failed to Test adapter instance. Reason - Unknown Error. Please contact support team.

• The adapter log located at /storage/vcops/log/adapters/HorizonAdapter/HorizonAdapter_####.log contains an exception similar to the below

Note: The numerical value at the end of the log file name HorizonAdapter_####.log will vary, and will be specific to your environment. View the log with the latest timestamp.

Environment

VMware vRealize Operations 8.x

Cause

This issue is caused by changes to APIs in Horizon 2209 which have impacted the backward compatibility between the products.

Horizon 8.8 (2212) is not currently supported with Management Pack for Horizon (MP4H) 2.5

Resolution

This issue was addressed for Horizon 2209 with the release of the Management Pack for Horizon (MP4H) 2.5.
