Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
When customer tries to upgrade or redeploy Edge appliance with Load Balancer enabled they get the following error:

The available persistence methods are sourceip, msrdp and cookie when ssl passthrough is disabled.

Environment

VMware NSX for vSphere 6.4.x
VMware NSX for vSphere 6.3.x

Cause

In later versions of NSX there is a check for the persistent method of the load balancer. If the persistent method is configured incorrectly in previous version the error above can be seen in attempt of upgrade or redeploy.

Resolution

Make sure the persistent method is configured correctly:

"The available persistence methods for TCP are sourceip, and msrdp"
"The available persistence method for UDP is sourceip"
"The available persistence methods for HTTP are sourceip and cookie"
"The available persistence methods for HTTPS are sourceip, and cookie when ssl passthrough is disabled"
"The available persistence methods for HTTPS are sourceip, and sslsessionid when ssl passthrough is enabled"
