Driver installation failed for reason E000024B when installing NSX for vSphere 6.x Edge SSL VPN-Plus Client

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

• Installing the VMware NSX for vSphere 6.x and Edge SSL VPN Client on Windows 8.1 fails.
• Cannot install the VMware NSX for vSphere 6.x Edge SSL VPN-Plus Client on Windows 8.1.
  
• You see the error:
  
  Driver installation failed for reason E000024B:. Please try rebooting the machine.
  

Environment

VMware NSX for vSphere 6.0.x
VMware NSX for vSphere 6.1.x

Cause

This issue occurs due to the usage of the Hide SSL client network adapter option in the Edge SSL VPN-Plus Client installer options.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, disable the usage of the Hide SSL client network adapter option and regenerate a new installer.

To disable this option:

1. Log in using proper credentials using the vSphere Web Client.
2. Go to Networking & Security > NSX Edges.
3. Select the Edge > SSL VPN-Plus tab.
4. Select Installation Package and click Edit.
5. Ensure that option Hide SSL client network adapter is unchecked.
6. Click OK.
