SRM 8.1 plugin redirects to invalid URL

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

  • Access to SRM plug-in is not available
  • SRM redirect URL works fine for production site, however, fails for DR site
  • Manually trying to access SRM plug-in: https://SRM_IP:443/dr fails as well
  • SRM HTML logs reported following events:
%ProgramData%\VMware\VMware vCenter Site Recovery Manager\runtime\srm-client\logs\dr.log

Environment

VMware vCenter Site Recovery Manager 8.1.x

Cause

This issue was caused by SRM tomcat service configuration file 'login-index.html' located at: C:\ProgramData\VMware\VMware vCenter Site Recovery Manager\runtime\srm-client\webapps\dr\app\

Resolution


This issue was caused by SRM tomcat service configuration file: 'login-index.html'. There is no resolution.



Workaround:

To work around, download attached 'login-index.html' file and replace it on SRM server
  1. Download 'login-index.html' attached to this article.
  2. Make a copy of 'login-index.html' file on SRM server: C:\ProgramData\VMware\VMware vCenter Site Recovery Manager\runtime\srm-client\webapps\dr\app\login-index.html
  3. Replace the existing 'login-index.html' file.
  4. Restart 'VMware vCenter Site Recovery Manager Client' service.
