Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
  • Running a Reprotect test in VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM) fails.
  • Running a Disaster Recover test in SRM fails.
  • You see error similar to:

    There are not enough licenses installed to perform the operation.


Environment

VMware vCenter Site Recovery Manager 5.8.x

Cause

This issue occurs when a license is not assigned to an individual asset. If you have re-installed vCenter Server, the license for an SRM asset can become unassigned.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, assign a license key to the asset and restart the SRM service on the recovery site.
