Issue/Introduction

Starting July 14, 2015, Microsoft does not provide support for SQL Server 2012 General Availability (GA) and Service Pack 1, This article discusses the support stance from VMware on the interoperability of Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Service Pack (SP) 2 with vCenter Server 5.5 and vCenter Server 6.0.

Environment

VMware vCenter Server 6.0.x
VMware vCenter Server 5.5.x

Resolution

The VMware Engineering team has completed compatibility testing with these vSphere versions.
Notes:
  • If customers want to use Microsoft SQL Server 2012 SP2 with their existing vSphere 5.5 or 6.0 deployments they must upgrade to the specified versions.
  • If customers want to use Microsoft SQL Server 2012 SP2 with their new vSphere 5.5 and 6.0 deployments they must perform the installs using the specified versions.
