Recreate a Missing Resource Pool in a vCloud Director environment

Issue/Introduction

This article outlines a method to recreate missing Resource Pools needed by vCloud Director.

• If DRS has been turned off vcd-check is a better solution as there may be many resource pools.
• If vcd-check is not available this method can be used to recreate missing resource pools in vCenter Server.

Symptoms:

• vCloud Director fails.
• Resource Pool Missing in vCenter Server that is part of a vCloud Director (vCD) environment.

Environment

VMware Cloud Director 10.x

Cause

This issue can be caused by disabling DRS or when a Resource Pool has been deleted.

Resolution

Open a support case with Broadcom support to resolve this issue.
