Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
1. When customer does cluster movement across folder, hosts on cluster are nsx-unprepped.
2. VTEP vmkernel ports are not deleted ,when you move ESXi from an NSX cluster to a non-NSX cluster
3. In vsm.log there will be delete notifications for inventory objects on the cluster and including cluster also like,
 "Received DELETE notification for <domain object>""

Environment

VMware NSX Data Center for vSphere 6.4.x

Cause

This is due to timing issue as vCenter property collector works on eventually consistent model. So based on time of cluster movement ('move' operation) and inventory polling of property collector, NSX may receive the operation as 'delete+add' instead of move operation.
So listeners listening on delete events of those inventory objects (cluster listeners) on delete unpreps hosts for those clusters.

Resolution

This is a known issue affecting NSX Data Center for vSphere 6.4.2 and above.
Currently there is no resolution.

Workaround:
1. Stop bluelane manager
/etc/init.d/bluelane-manager stop

2. Back up /home/secureall/secureall/sem/WEB-INF/spring/vsmConfig.properties

3. Edit /home/secureall/secureall/sem/WEB-INF/spring/vsmConfig.properties and make following change.

feature.traversalspec.enabled=true
change to ->
feature.traversalspec.enabled=false

4. Start bluelane manager.
/etc/init.d/bluelane-manager start

5.Perform the workflow/steps

6.Stop bluelane manager
/etc/init.d/bluelane-manager stop

7. Restore backed up /home/secureall/secureall/sem/WEB-INF/spring/vsmConfig.properties

8. Start bluelane manager.
/etc/init.d/bluelane-manager start

Additional Information

Impact/Risks:
Moving/Changing Datacenter Folder in vSphere running on NSX-v prepped ESXi hosts may triggered uninstall of NSX VIBs.
