. The relevant logs will be on the newly deployed appliance.
In the
firstbootStatus.json
file, you see the error:
"failedSteps": "vmcam-firstboot"
In the
vmcam-firstboot.py_####_stderr.log
file, you see the entry similar to:
Exception: Could not register as vCenter extension
Note:
vCenter Server Appliance - Firstboot logs are located in the
/var/log/firstboot
directory.
Environment
VMware vCenter Server Appliance 6.7.x
Cause
This issue occurs when VMware Authentication Proxy service is started in vCenter Server 6.5 during the upgrade.
Resolution
Stop the VMware Authentication Proxy service before migrating to the vCenter Server Appliance 6.7.
