Issue/Introduction

This KB provides information on availability of product support for vRealize Network Insight 4.1.0 in vRealize Lifecycle Manager (a.k.a vRSLCM) 2.1 version.

Note
  • vIDM version lesser than 3.2.0 are not recommended for integration with vRNI version 4.1.0
  • Adding data source of type VMware PKS and Kubernetes are not supported.
  • While adding a Service Now data source from vRSLCM without custom CMDB configuration, toggle on and off the checkbox against the field 'Customize CMDB configuration'.


Environment

VMware vRealize Network Insight 4.x

Resolution

When vRSLCM is connected to internet:

1. Access vRSLCM UI and Navigate to Home > Settings > Update. Scroll down to the Support for Additional Product Versions section.
2. vRSLCM will auto populate the list of available support versions (just below the button Check for Versions). If the list is not auto populated, click on the button Check for Versions.
3. After the list is populated, click Apply Version for the appropriate content version.
4. Once done, the list under Support for Additional Product Versions section shall show the updated version of policy applied and it will include vRealize Network Insight version 4.1.0 under the Product Versions Info. Alternatively, user can navigate to the context menu available for logged in user (available on the top right corner of the UI, where logged in user name is visible) and click on the Products option to find vRealize Network Insight version 4.1.0 support included.

When vRSLCM is not conncted to internet:

1. Access VMware Market place and download the product support pack file from VREALIZE SUITE LIFECYCLE MANAGER SUPPORT FOR VRNI 4.1.0.
2. Access vRSLCM UI Navigate to Home > Settings > Update. Scroll down to the Support for Additional Product Versions section.
3. Upload the downloaded product support pack file by clicking Choose File. Once uploaded, vRSLCM will auto populate the list of available support versions (just below the button Check For Updates).
4. After the list is populated, click Apply Version for the appropriate content version.
5. Once done, the list under Support for Additional Product Versions section shall show the updated version of policy applied and it will include vRealize Network Insight version 4.1.0 under the Product Versions Info. Alternatively, user can navigate to the context menu available for logged in user (available on the top right corner of the UI, where logged in user name is visible) and click on the Products option to find vRealize Network Insight version 4.1.0 support included.
