Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
  • After upgrading the vRealize Operations Tenant App, the vCD Plugin container goes into a restarting state.
  • The vCD Plugin version still shows the older version of  Tenant App.

Cause

This issue is caused when the upgrade fails to delete older plugin images during the upgrade process.

Resolution

This is a known issue affecting vRealize Operations Tenant App.
To resolve this issue, stop the vRealize Operations Tenant App plugins and restart the upgrade.
  1. Take a snapshot of the Tenant App appliance.
  2. Log into the vRealize Operations Tenant App UI.
  3. Navigate to Administration > Support and stop all vCD plugins except for the tenant-app-ui and tenant-app-db-cassandra containers.
  4. Log into vRealize Operations Tenant App as root via SSH or Console, pressing ALT+F1 in a Console to log in.
  5. Verify that plugin containers are not running by executing the following command:
docker ps

Note: Only the tenant-app-ui and tenant-app-db-cassandra containers should be running.  If more containers are still running, go back to step 3.
  1. Perform the vRealize Operations Tenant App upgrade.
